Concert Ticket Sales

This article is to explain the affilate sales career and more
important the ticket sales area of the field. Typically what an
affilaite does is build websites them promote and market them
through the internet.

To do this you have to get your pages listed into search
engines, and the closer you are to number one position for your
keywords the better. Ticket sales offers a great chance, simply
because there are so many events, it is just not possible for a
single person to conquer the whole area.

So for example you can build a website simply on theater events
in new York, offer information about all the theater events in
new York and sell tickets from your site , receieve a commison
for each sale, and a check in the mail.

Sounds fun and easy, but it takes time to learn what to do, if
you are interested in this type of work, there are tons of free
articles on the net as well as great books available online.

If you enjoy writing, reviewing and the cyber space areana, it
might be something to look into, many make tons of money doing
this, and some just have a fun hobby which makes them a few
extra dollars, and with gas prices, a hobby which gives you some
money is a good thing!

Create Audio CDs from MP3 files

Music has found a new way of storage in the form of digital files in the computer and other digital systems. The MP3 format is the most popular and widely used storage media for music.

Many people store a database of music in the form of MP3s in their computer system. There is a need to create a back up of every file stored on the computer due to the fear of its crashing. Similar to the data files backup, MP3 backup is also necessary. The most convenient and intelligent way of creating MP3 backup is by converting them into audio CDs.

Converting MP3 files into audio CDs is very simple and relatively easier than creating a backup of a data file. There is an abundance of CD burning software which can burn or make an audio CD with the help of a CD writer drive. The user just needs to compile a play list of the MP3 song files which he needs to store and then the software stores them into the CD.

The burning procedure of the audio CD is easy to understand. In the burning procedure, first the Mp3 files are converted into Compact Disc Audio (CDA) format files. This process is internal to the software program and is not displayed to the user. The most popular CD burning program is Nero. Although Nero software can handle all the burning procedure and behind the scenes conversion, it provides additional customized options for advanced users. For instance, Nero has a simple audio editor which provides the advanced option of applying filters like noise reduction, equalization or stereo widening and splitting of files.

Not all the CD burning software comes with the advanced features. In these cases the MP3 can be processed manually before burning the CD using dedicated audio editing software. There are plenty of freeware and commercial software programs available on the Internet for this service. The most useful editing functions while preparing MP3 files for burning onto CDs is to ‘normalize’ them. The normalization process smoothens out the volume spikes or differences between the various tracks on the CD. This process ensures that the entire CD plays at the same relative loudness. After the editing procedure of the MP3 files they should be saved in the WAV file format to be burned to CD. Sometimes the MP3s are burned to a Compact Disc Recordable (CD-R) format. The problem with this format is that although most modern CD players can play this CD format, the older CD players might not read them.

It is not essential for MP3s to be converted to another format. They can be burned directly to Audio CDs in the original MP3 format without any conversion. As MP3 files comes in a more highly compressed format than other formats, a large amount of song files can be stored on one CD - about 120 songs instead of 10 Wav type files. Moreover, the MP3 CDs can be played on a computer CD-ROM in addition to the compatible CD and DVD players.

There is one problem with MP3 CDs and that is looking for a particular piece of music among the huge file list is difficult, especially if the CD player doesn’t have a display. The solution to this problem is to use a DVD player connected to a TV or home theater system and arrange the songs into logically divided folders - by artist, album etc. Also the name of the MP3 files should start with the name of the song rather than the artist to facilitate searching.

Criss Angel Magic Secrets

Levitation is a big part of Criss Angel’s repertoire. He has fascinated crowds all over the globe by floating off the ground, seemingly without any supporting device, special equipment or wires.

On his television show Mindfreak he once lifted off the ground about two feet and gently landed on a cement ledge to the surprise of spectators on a busy street.

So how is this done? How does Criss Angel levitate himself? It’s actually easier than you think. In a recent video Criss Angel shows some of his friends how this is done.

This more difficult form of levitation involves standing in front of an prop like a metal box, chair, or stair case with your back to the audience. In this demonstration Criss stands approximately one foot from the prop, in this case a metal box. He places his feet together (his shoes are magnatized). He stands so he is in the center of the spectators. Now while talking to his audience he uses misdirection with his right hand while his left hand opens a panel on his pants that allows his right leg to come out. This is the gimmick, the right shoe is attached to the pants so when his leg is out of the shoe, the shoe will hang.

The critical point is removing the right leg from the slit in the pants. Criss again misdirects. The importance being he doesn’t want spectators concentrating on his legs. This is the most difficult part of the trick, actually getting the leg out and firmly planted on the box. Engaging the spectators with speech and hand movements allows Criss the split second needed to accomplish this. Just before he rises from the ground Criss arches his back looking up, extends his arms outwards and takes deep breaths. This wraps the spectators in anticipation and allows Criss the time to balance himself.

He floats up. His arms outstreached, his eyes gazing upwards. His legs are straight, heels together, floating two feet off the ground. “How does it look?”, Criss asks the three or four friends that have gathered. “Looks good”, someone answers.

Criss explains that from this point he can float up to the top or float back down. If he floats to the top his foot is placed on top of the right shoe. The exposed leg is then slipped back into the pants and shoe.

Criss would then turn to his spectators and observe their expressions saying something like, “Do you believe?”

Well do you?.About the Author

Conspiracies

Egypt has long been the source of countless conspiracies,
ranging from ancient lost civilizations to extraterrestrial
markers. The reason for this focus is likely because Egypt is
the most romanticized ancient civilization, and also because it
is home to the mystical Great Pyramid of Giza, the only
surviving Wonder of the Ancient World.

This article will
describe some of the conspiracies surrounding the Sphinx and the
Pyramid.

The Riddle of the Sphinx

Most of the conspiracy theories revolving around the Sphinx
usually involve its age. The Sphinx is generally accepted to
have been built along with the Pyramids of Giza around 2500 BC.
It is even accepted that the face of the Sphinx bears the
likeness of Khafre (Chephren), the Pharaoh during that time.

However, there was no written record from that era regarding the
Sphinx or its construction. In addition, the human head of the
Sphinx is small in relation to the rest of the body, indicating
that the head bearing Pharaoh Khafre’s likeness could have been
carved out of a larger lion’s head. These points led some
researchers to believe that the Sphinx could have been built
much earlier by a more ancient civilization, thus starting a
whole host of conspiracy theories.

Geologist Dr. Robert Schoch and author John Anthony West made a
case that the erosion marks on the Sphinx appears not to be made
by wind or sand, but by water, such as falling rain. They used
evidence of other structures in the Giza area to prove their
point. If this were true, the construction of the Sphinx could
then be dated back to at least 5000 BC, when the area still
received substantial rainfall, in contrast to desert conditions
later on.

In his official website, Director of the Giza Monuments Dr. Zahi
Hawass provides various points suggesting that the evidence used
in proving Dr. Schoch’s theory is flawed.

Adding to the conspiracies surrounding the age of the Sphinx,
writers Graham Hancock and Robert Buvaul provide evidence in
their book Message of the Sphinx that the creation of the Sphinx
and Pyramids can be pushed back as far as 10,500 BC using
astronomical data.

Secret of the Pyramids

The Pyramids of Giza have been the objects of many conspiracies
over the years. Many people believe that the Pyramids are a link
to an ancient lost civilization, and may still contain evidence
to prove it. Many conspiracy theories regarding secret chambers
and passageways within the pyramids exist to this day.

These conspiracy theories became even more widespread in 1993,
when Dr. Zahi Hawass announced that the Great Pyramid of Khufu
was to be closed to the public for a year. The reason given for
the closure was to facilitate cleaning, conservation and
restoration of the interior chambers in the Great Pyramid.

However, conspiracy theorists believe that the Egyptian
authorities had uncovered evidence of a lost civilization in the
Pyramid, and were secretly excavating it to reveal more
information.

During the conservation process in 1993, robots were used to
explore the small ventilation shafts leading from the “King’s
Chamber” and the lower “Queen’s Chamber” in the Great Pyramid.
An intriguing discovery was made: partway through the shafts of
the “Queen’s Chamber” were “doors” with handles.

In order to prove the transparency of their work and debunk any
conspiracies, Dr. Zahi Hawass decided to partner with National
Geographic to explore beyond the “doors”, and provide a live
telecast of the exploration to the rest of the world.

After much publicity, the expedition commenced, with footage
telecast live around the world. During the last minute of the
show, a camera was sent in a hole made in the “door” of the
shaft, revealing another “door” behind it. And that was when the
show finished. Conspiracy theories started sprouting, asking the
following questions: “What’s behind the 2nd door? Why did the
show end so abruptly? What are they hiding from us?”

Company Christmas party or holiday event planning made easy -

?Holiday entertainment planning is a serious business ? a lot
happens behind the scenes, long before the CEO says thanks for a
job well-done?, says Incredible BORIS (Boris Cherniak).

Around
this time of the year, human resources managers and company CEOs
are asking the age-old question - How do we make our holiday
event an affair to remember? After all, we are simply trying to
thank the employees, suppliers and their families for a job well
done throughout the year. We also want this event to motivate
the group to be happy and productive in the future. This is a
more difficult task that may appear from outside.

?The people planning functions have an enormous task of fitting
into the ever-shrinking budgets while keeping party-goers
satisfied,? says Boris Cherniak, corporate event planning
professional, comedy hypnotist entertainer and motivational
speaker.

Here is a helpful checklist of planning an affair for the
holidays (as provided by Boris Cherniak): 1. Budget. Break down
all the amounts allocated to each task then you can have a clear
view of how much room you have to play. Spend it wisely and know
what your limitations are. The old rule of thumb is you get what
you pay for. If it appears too inexpensive, it may be the
inexperience or you will not be getting what you expected. Get
the best value possible with the resources you have available.
It is easy to spend ANY budget. You may have to make a few
sacrifices. What gets eliminated first and what should be kept
at any cost? Always keep in mind of what the overall impression
by the attendees will be. Leave a lasting impression. 2. Number
of people in attendance ? estimate the number of people expected
at the party. Keep in mind that a small percentage may not
attend due to lack of babysitters, illness or vacation. 3. Book
banquet hall facilities, venue location. Pick a location that is
convenient for your group with amenities like transportation,
parking, etc. 4. Food and catering ? dinner / lunch, drinks or
buffet ? most halls will offer you different choices of meal
options, hors d?oerves, desserts and per person amounts. Make
sure there are enough choices for all tastes. 5. Schedule and
timing. It is easy to under-estimate the amount of time a
function will take due to many unforeseen circumstances. Factors
such as how long the speeches will take, time to bring out the
food or attendees arriving late due to a freak snowstorm or
traffic. This can change the dynamic of your event - plan
accordingly and have a contingency plan. 6. Entertainment ?
comedian, hypnotist, juggler, psychic, magician, DJ and dancing,
party games. Entertainment is a wonderful way to make your event
memorable. Entertainment comes in many budgets and styles. Pick
a solution that will not only make the company and event planner
look good, but will leave a lasting impression on the attendees.
Explore different options best suited to your group. Local or
national performers can be considered. Many are available on the
web and could be your first place of inquiry. Many agencies have
a roster of people they can suggest. Never forget to look within
your company for entertainment suggestions and talent (in every
company there is a band or a disk jockey that would be more than
happy to accommodate your budget and show off their talents).
Keep in mind that entertainers are extremely busy during the
holiday season ? leaving booking your entertainment until the
last minute is not a good idea as your date may no longer be
available. 7. Sound, lighting, projection equipment and audio
visual materials ? Have a run-through and make sure everything
is in place before your audience arrives so that you don?t have
to deal with ?technical difficulties?. 8. Accommodations for any
out of town guests and transportation to and from the airport.
9. Taxi cabs for anyone that over-indulges in the open bar
concept and to avoid liability. 10. Registration ? name cards
for your guests, open seating or pre-arranged seating plan. 11.
Awards, door prizes and giveaways. Many of these can be donated
by your suppliers or provided to you at their cost for your
holiday event. It shows good faith, and don?t be surprised if
the suppliers return the favor. 12. Party theme and d?cor ?
color scheme, chair covers, centerpieces, flowers, ice
sculptures. One of the more unique ideas I saw recently was a
sports theme, where instead of elegant centerpieces, sports
memorabilia was placed in the center of the tables, which was
available for the guests to take home ? these included running
shoes and football helmets. 13. Dress and attire. Let the
attendees know what to expect to wear ? formal, casual or
business attire. We all heard a story of a prank where a person
is invited to a pajama party when it?s a formal affair. 14.
Invitations or a simple announcement in the company newsletter
and bulletin board. 15. Contracts. Commit to the people you will
be doing business with, since it usually is done on a first come
basis. Halls, performers and caterers have limited availability.
Be decisive and direct. Most people will give you a price range
that would depend on your choice of options. Many event
suppliers will require deposits to commit. 16. Presentations ?
keep the speeches brief and to the point. Number of speakers
should be kept down to a minimum. After all, people are there to
be social and not to be lectured. 17. Everyone wants to have a
party on a Saturday. You may find that having an alternate day
of the week may greatly reduce your expenses and make it easier
to hire entertainment and book your venue. Also, consider having
your function early afternoon. A lunch is less expensive than a
seven-course dinner. 18. Include a table for the crew,
entertainment and other behind-the-scenes people. They, at times
forget to eat to make sure your event runs smoothly. Show them
the spirit of the holiday season and include them in your
celebrations. 19. If your business is busy during the holiday
season, consider having your event earlier or later. It should
not make a difference if your function is held in November or
January instead of December. 20. Have a cell phone handy for any
last-minute emergencies the day of your event. If a cell phone
is not an option (no signal or simply unavailable), make sure
your suppliers have the venue address and phone number. Your
function will be attended by people from many walks of life and
backgrounds - politically correct term is Holiday Party. Make it
chic, memorable and fun. Have people walk away saying - I had a
great time, that was incredible.? He is a wordsmith comedian,
observer and commentator on society quirks, obsessions and
stereotypes. Incredible Boris is not just a stage name, but also
a way to describe a positive attitude and a constant state of
mind. The Incredible Boris is an expert in psychology, hypnosis,
body language, power of suggestion and human behavior. He
authors a popular ezine ?power words and phrases? through his
web sites www.comedywood.com or www.IncredibleBORIS.com or
www.HypnotistShow.com Boris has been featured on numerous
television programs, including Montel, Howie Mandel Show and the
prestigious Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. Boris?
self-hypnosis Relaxation and Motivation CD is available through
his web site or as a giveaway to complement his performance at
your company?s function during this holiday season. Happy
Holidays.

Creating Interest in a Beginner Pianist

A young beginner pupil is, indeed, an object for study, as well
as a child to be taught. To a conscientious teacher a beginner
pupil is a problem.

In order to unfold that ability which is in
the child, the teacher must first study what way to adopt in
order to accomplish this unfolding in a worthy manner.

The first line of attack, so to speak, is to gain the interest
of this pupil. In so doing the teacher has caused a spark which
might be “fanned” into a small flame of enthusiasm; and this in
turn will make “power” for effort on the pupil’s part. The
desired results of unfoldment will gradually be brought about by
this effort in the pupil.

To interest a beginner pupil, a teacher may use many clever
methods. But the most reliable and the one upon which all
methods of interest are founded is briefly stated thus: Give the
pupil material which he is capable of doing. When he discovers
that his fingers can easily do this, then he feels confident
that he can play. Naturally, this sudden realization would
create interest in any child; and after he has done so well with
his first little piece he becomes anxious for more. But, right
here the teacher must be careful. Realizing that only the
“spark” has existed so far, he must go easy or it will go out.

The next proper move the teacher should make is first to study
the character of the material just mastered by the pupil. Then,
select more material similar to the first. Even if it is almost
like the first, the pupil does not care, just so he knows that
he has received a new piece.

As the pupil grows more acquainted with this form of material,
discontinue it and introduce new things which require a little
more effort on the pupil’s part. But this change must be done
with much discretion.

After a short while, the teacher will see his pupil progressing
upward into more difficult pieces with surprising quickness, and
will have the satisfaction of knowing it is the result of his
own correct instructions. And the product of this work is an
interested and enthusiastic pupil.

Damkier in Strauss Opera "A Night in Venice" to Close April 30

Brent L. Damkier, (pronounced Dam-key-r) handsome lyric tenor at
the Regensburg Opera, is best known for his recent roles as
Prince Tamino in The Magic Flute and Prince Ramiro in
Cinderella.

Eine Nacht in Venedig, (A Night in Venice) by Strauss premiered
on October 23, 2004. Damkier plays the roll of Pappacoda, a
Spaghetti cook. It is a tremendous comic roll and Damkier
usually receives the most applause even through it is a smaller
singing role. This is the remaining performance. Just 75 miles
(120 kilometers) out of Munich is the historic German town of
Regensburg. Just off the Danube River, nestled in the heart of a
charming old town square is an intimate 380 year-old opera house
seating 524 dedicated patrons and international guests; it is
home to the leading tenor.

Damkier, who has performed throughout Europe, thrills audiences,
with his sweet interpretation and punctuated tenor dexterity.
From character parts, to the male ing?nue, to the leading man,
Damkier is bridging his operating roots to a U.S. tour in 2006
which will cross-over to a cabaret format broadening his
audience and fan club. One of the recital performances in early
2006 will be recorded and distributed for wide release.

The youthful face looks to be fresh out of high school having
originally hailed from Northern California, yet is the face,
voice, and actor of a well-trained virtuoso in his thirties. Six
years ago without any training in German, the nearly six-foot
tall, handsome, golden-eyed, fair-skinned performer headed for
Germany to hone his craft on the stages of several smaller opera
companies. According to producer and promoter TR Cutler, Damkier
will make his recital debut in South Florida.
